" WHY DO WE MAKE EXCUSES " ?

Think about it, why do we/you make excuses? I wonder why it is that we just can't stand on our own name or even stand behind what we say or do without making some kind of excuse. Jesus never had to make excuses, and as children of the king we don't have to make excuses either. All we need to is to do is seek the Lord before we do or say anything.

I'm being very serious when I say that it's time that we stop making excuses. EXCUSE: (1) to make an apology for (2) pardon (3) to release from an obligation (4) justify.

How easy is it to excuse our sins by blaming someone else or our circumstances. Yes, it's so easy to blame others and make excuses for our evil thoughts and wrong actions. God knows the truth and he holds each of us responsible for what we do fortunately, when we disobey, God is willing to forgive us and to restore our relationship with him. Admit your wrong attitudes and actions and apologize to God. Listen, don't attempt to get away with sin by blaming someone else.

When we attempt to whitewash over our mistakes and sins, trying to justify and spiritualize our actions because of our "unique" circumstances, are nothing more than disobedience. It is often easier to strike out in frustration and accuse someone else than to admit and error and ask forgiveness. have you ever thought of some of the lame excuses that we use: (1) It's the other person's fault; (2) No body's perfect; (3) I was pressured into it; (4) I couldn't help it; (5) The devil made me do it; (6) Every body's doing it; (7) It was just a mistake; (8) I didn't know it was wrong; (9) God is tempting me. Those of us who know the Word, are aware that God doesn't tempt us in any way but he will test us from time to time. Now, a person who makes excuses is trying to shift the blame from him or herself to something or someone else. The Father is aware of our true motives. He forgives, restores and blesses only when we
are honest about our sins.

A Christian accepts responsibility for his or her wrongs, confess them, and ask God for forgiveness. Last point how many times have you made excuses to avoid serving God? Have you ever felt inadequate for a task that you believe God has given you to do? God will often
call us to tasks that seem too difficult, but he doesn't ask us to do them alone. The Father always makes his resources available to us and all we have to do is ask.

As servants of Christ we will develop a Christ-like attitude of humility as we serve, even though we are not likely to get recognition for our efforts. Listen, if you're selfishly clinging to your rights , or are you willing to serve and become excuse free.

Until Next Time...

Jim
