" LYING / LIAR "

Hello All,

Is it me, or are people telling more lies without a second thought and without regret? I confess that in my life I have told a lie on occasion and the occasion was most likely self preservation of some kind. As I'm reaching back in the depths of my mind I most likely stretched the true...well let me be totally honest I lied to suit my purpose. In my youth I was careless in some areas of my life and putting my needs before others was paramount.

It is and has been my goal to be totally honest in all things and in all ways. When I gave my life to the Lord years ago it was totally and I've had no regrets. Those of you who know me and who have broken bread with me get a sense that I'm sold out. I'm sorry I just can't abide a liar.

Why do some among us say what ever is convenient at the moment? Why do some promise this or that, then do whatever is suitable? I'm reminded of JOB 24:25 " Now if it is not so, who can prove me a liar, and make my speech worthless " ? How many times have you denied ever saying something? A liar is a person who lies, and there's no if and or buts about it. When you say something, or promise to do something and you don't, that's not keeping your word and therefore you are a liar. You should be able to say with confidence and with the Lords help whatever is on your heart. What I'm trying to say is we should always be mindful of what comes out of our mouths.

Please don't talk out of turn, think before you speak, our words can come back to haunt us. I personally have a problem with a liar, and if I catch you in a lie I will call you out. We are instructed in Deuteronomy 5:20 " You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor ". We should be 100% truthful 100% of the time. I would imagine that those who lie must be on guard all of the time. It certainly appears that being a fabricator is truly arduous at best. My advice for those who feel that there's no harm in telling lies is to cease. We're told in Revelation 21:8 " But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderous, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters AND ALL LIARS - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death". Take heed.
