Two of my nine grandchildren are spending some
time with my wife and I over their Spring Vacation.
It's always my pleasure being with the boys and it
always amazes me just how much of me is in them.
Some of the things that I say and do, my grands
repeat. Always remember " What we do in
moderation our Children will do in excess ".
So please be mindful what you say and do, now it's
important what you put into their hearts and mind.
Share your Spiritual experiences, as your children
and your children's children are your legacy. I'm
blessed to see my grandchildren grow; my oldest is
19 years old and is successfully navigating his way
through college life. It was important for me to tell
my children how the Lord has been paramount in my
life. You see your stories will form the foundations of
your Children's belief in God. I challenge everyone in
my sphere of influence about daily reading of the Word
of God.
God speaks to us through his recorded word in the
Bible and we should be in awe by every word. Now, I'm
sure that the Lord still speaks directly to some, the Bible
records conversations to give us insights into his character.
" My Bible tells us that our God is the same yesterday
today and forever". Listen, we have the wonderful
privilege of talking to God, but God answers us
differently - through His written Word and the guidance of
his Holy Spirit. We can receive this guidance by seeking
after God. As people of God we must be mindful that making
up or even spreading false rumors are strictly forbidden by the
Father. The Word of God says Gossip, Slander, and bearing
false witness does much harm. Gossip is destructive and
causes problems. Even if it's not you to initiate the lie, you
become responsible if you pass it along: Don't circulate
Rumors; As Christians we should squelch them.
Our words can reveal stuff about us, now let's be honest.
Unfortunately our speech can sometimes be disingenuous.
At times our words are right and pleasing to the Lord, but at
other times they can be hurtful and destructive.
When our speech is motivated by Satan it is full of:
Earthly Concerns and Desires; Nonspiritual Thoughts and
Ideas; Selfish Ambition; Bitter Jealousy; and Evil. Now
God and His Wisdom: Righteousness; Consideration
for Others; Submission; Mercy; Peace; and Love For
Others.
OK, It's time to be real and a time to listen up. Some of
us love to talk, and one might even say that we love to hear
our own voices. When we speak too much and listen too
little, we impart to others that we consider our ideas to be
much more important. Be mindful of how much you talk
and how much you listen. Don't be overwhelming in your
speech. It's better to listen more than those around you.
              Until Next Time...
                      Jim
