Good Day To You All,
Today's subject is regarding a five letter word "Doubt" which is a very powerful word that I'm attempting to remove from my vocabulary. To doubt is to be uncertain or to lack confidence in, to hesitate or an inclination not to believe or accept. I choose to trust in God the Father in all ways and in all things.
A person who allows their mind to waver is not completely convinced that God's way is best. All God's words are right and true, and they can be trusted. The Bible is reliable: And he said to them, " Why are you troubled, and why do your doubts arise in your hearts"? Unlike people, God does not lie, forget, change his words, or leave his promises unfulfilled. Now, if your faith is new, weak, or struggling, remember that you can always trust God. Then you should be unwavering to the things of God. To stabilize your wavering or doubtful mind, commit yourself wholeheartedly to God. We can trust the bible because it contains the words of a Holy, trustworthy, and unchangeable God.
Let's take a trip to the garden. The serpent, Satan, tempted Eve by getting her to doubt God's goodness. Satan suggested that God was stern, miserly, and self-seeking for not wanting Eve to share his knowledge of good and evil. The serpent made Eve forget all that God had given her and, instead, focus on the one thing she couldn't have. The very next time you are feeling sorry for yourself and what you don't have, consider all you do have and thank God. Then your doubts won't lead you into sin. Temptation is Satan's invitation to give in to his kind of life and give up on God's kind of life. Satan tempted Eve and succeeded in getting her to sin. Ever since then, he's been hard at work getting people to sin. He even tempted Jesus (Matt 4:11). But Jesus did not sin!
Even God's people sometimes make the mistake of trusting their intellect or experience rather than God. When tempted to think that one of God's promises is impossible, remember his work throughout history. God's power is not confined by narrow perspective or bound by human limitations. Trust Him completely.
Ways to resist temptation and therefore doubt: We must realize that being tested is not a sin. We have not sinned until we give in to the temptation. Then, to resist temptation, we must (1) pray for strength to resist. (2) Run, sometimes literally, and (3) Say now when confronted with what we know is wrong. James 1:12 Tells of the blessings and rewards for those who don't give in when tempted.
Until Next Time...
