Good Day To You,
You are welcomed to share in the Good News that I amabout to impart to you. I'm so very pleased that you areable to join in, this week's message is regarding COMPROMISE. Dangers of compromise can hamper our relationship withGod. When we lay aside the Word of God we suffer in thelong run. God's clear statements of right and wrong and when we make decisions based on the preferences of our audience,we fall into compromise and lawlessness. God promises tohonor those who do right, not those who make everyone happy. COMPROMISE CAN BE DEFINED AS A BLENDING OF THEQUALITIES OF TWO DIFFERENT THINGS OR A CONCESSION OF PRINCIPLES. COOPERATE WITH PEOPLE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, BUTAVOID ANY ALLIANCE, PARTNERSHIP, OR PARTICIPATION THAT COULD LEAD TO IMMORAL PRACTICES. Now, my dictionary definescompromise as " a settlement of differences reached by mutualconcessions."
We should at all cost avoid relationships that compromiseour faith. Forming obligatory relationships with nonbelievers, can weaken your christian commitment, integrity, and or standards. Whether you're able to admit it this relationshipwould be incompatible on all levels. Now it's vital that we areactive in our witness to our counterparts in this world. Pleaseunderstand what I'm attempting to communicate to you. You shouldnot lock yourselves into personal or business relationships thatcould cause you to compromise your faith. I believe that asChristians we should do everything in our power to avoid situationsthat just might force us to divide our loyalties. Now, I do understand that at times it's OK to compromise but not with Godlyprinciples. Compromising may be an important element in getting alongwith others, but we should never compromise the truth of God's Word. If we feel we have to change our Christian beliefs to match those ofour companions, we are on dangerous ground. Sometimes people urgebelievers to compromise and give only partial obedience to God's commands. But commitment and obedience to God cannot be negotiated. When it comes to obeying God, half measures just won't do.
LAST POINT: In close friendships as well as marriages, it is difficult to resist the pressure to compromise. Our love leads us toidentify with the desires of those we care about. We must take care, because it's very easy for us to want to please and identify with ourloved ones that God asks us not to marry those who do not share ourcommitment to him.
Until Next Time...
