" THE MIND "

OK, here we are again another week has come and gone. This week we will be looking into the MIND. You know once upon a time I read a book called " Think And Grow Rich " 36 years ago at the age of 30 and I was UN-SAVED and very impressed with this reading. I wonder just how many lives that I could have touched if I was reading the Bible daily as a born again Christian. What we feed into our minds is just as important as what we feed our bodies.

Now the kinds of books we read, the people we talk with, the music we listen to, and the films we watch are all part of our mental diet. Be discerning because what you feed your mind influences your total health and Well-Being. Thus, a strong desire to discover knowledge is a mark of Wisdom.

Again what we put into our minds determine what comes out in our Words and Actions. Paul tells us in the Word of God to program our minds with thoughts that are True, Honorable, Right, Pure, Lovely, of Good Repute, Excellent, and Praiseworthy. Do you have problems with IMPURE THOUGHTS and DAYDREAMS? Again I say examine what you are putting into your mind through Television, Books, Conversations, Movies, and Magazines. Replace harmful input with wholesome material.

Above all, read God's Word and pray. Ask God to help you focus your mind on what is Good and pure. It takes practice, but it can be done. One may ask how do I renew my mind? Christians are called to " Not To Be Conformed To This World," with its behavior and customs that are usually selfish and often corrupting. I thank the Lord that many Christians wisely decide that much worldly behavior is off limits for them. Our refusal to conform to this world's values, however, must go even deeper than the level of behavior and customs - it must be firmly planted in our minds - " Be Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind." It is possible to avoid most worldly customs and still be Proud, Covetous, Selfish, Stubborn, and Arrogant. Only when the Holy Spirit Renews, Reeducates, and Redirects our Minds are we Truly Transformed.

Work at it, now keep your Wits about you.

Until Next Time...
 Jim
